Across Five Aprils

Have you ever thought of  how you might feel living at the time of the Civil War?  What might it be like to live in the northern state of Illinois, when your family comes from the southern state of Kentucky?  This is what ten year old Jethro Creighton had to deal with during this time.  Three of his brothers and his favorite teacher go and join the Union army and one gets in a fight with another brother and moves to Kentucky and joins with the Confederate army.  Jethro has to deal with the insults of other people because of his brother's decision.  To see how he takes these cruel insults and if his brothers survive you will have to read Across Five Aprils by Irene Hunt.
