Under the Blood-Red Sun
Graham Salisbury
What would it be like to live in Hawaii at the time of the bombing of Pearl Harbor? Tomi and his family know how it feels. Tomi lives with his family in Hawaii in a little house. His father is a fisherman and his mother is a house cleaner. His grandfather trains pigeons to race and carry messages. World War 2 seems far away for Tomi and his friends, because they are too busy playing baseball on their team, the Rats. But then Pearl Harbor is attacked by the Japanese and the U.S. declares war on Japan.
