The Witch of Blackbird Pond

The book The Witch of Blackbird Pond takes place in 1687 during the Salem Witch Trials.  In the story a young girl named Kit Tyler is sent away from her beautiful home on the Caribbean Islands to go live with her aunt on the bleak shores of the Conneticute Colony.  On the long trip over on the Dolphin  she had met many interesting people, but nothing came close to who she met at the colony.  When in Conneticut Kit   meets a strange old woman who is called the Witch of Blackbird pond.  Kit  forms a friendship with this woman and when people find out about it Kit is also accused of witchcraft.  She has to go through tough times to prove that she’s inoccent.
