When things get to hard, have you ever given up and backed off the task? In this story, Beetle, who has no family, and no home, is taken in by a midwife named Jane. She has offered to work for her in exchange for some food. She soon realizes that the midwife’s apprentice is not a very enjoyable job, but she is fortunate enough to be able to learn the skills of the midwife. After failing in a childbirth, Beetle runs away and finds a job at a cottage in a nearby town. Will Beetle return to the midwife or will she give up on the job completely? |
