This  story  is  about  a  boy  named  Adam  Pelko  who  is  fifteen  years  old.  Adam  was  in  Pearl  Harbor  when  the  Japanese  attacked.  His dad,  who  is  Lt. Emory J.             AdamÕs  family  later  moved  to  Bakersfield,  there  Adam  received  a  letter  from  his  best  friend  Davi.  The  letter  asked  for  AdamÕs  help  in  finding  his  father.  Davi  and  his  family  were  Japanese  Americans,  his  father  had  been  imprisoned  in  a  camp  called  Manzanar.

Adam  then  risks  traveling  to  Manzanar  to  deliver  the  letter.  But  to  his  surprise,  he finds  Davi  plus  his  whole  family  imprisoned  there.  They were  recently  sent  to  the  camp  because  of  suspicion  by  the  U.S.  Government.

After  Adam  spent  the  night  with  Davi  and  his  family,  he  began  to  get  ready  to  leave.  Before  Adam  left,  he  said  goodbye  to  Davi  and  wished  him  good   luck,  he  found  a  ride  home  and  explained  to  his  mom  where  he  had  been  all  this  time.  Adam  and  Davi  still  keep  in  touch  by  writing  letters  to  each other.

Book Review:

I believe this story is very good because I enjoyed the plot.  It was about a young boy on an adventure trying to accomplish a goal.  I also enjoyed the conclusion of the story.  The boy was able to find his long-lost friend from Hawaii.
