meaning of a hard life. If you have not read this book, then you will
absolutely love this book. When you read this book you will agree. See what

Summary: This is a story
about Jack Mandelbaum and he was twelve years old. He lived in Gyndia, Poland
in 1939. He had a father, a mother, an older sister, and a younger brother.
His home was full of happiness and relaxation, they said it was full of
Òlaughter and kisses.Ó Later his family was forced out by soldiers sent by
Hitler they knocked on the doors and said, ÒAll Jews out!Ó They were all sent
to a concentration camp, Jack was separated from the rest of his family. He
had a hard life at the concentration camp, they were slaves and people were
dying. At this time
many countries were at war with the Nazis, who were led by Hitler. Jack was
sent to a different concentration camp. Later he was transferred to another.
He met someone at that camp, his name was Moliek. The Nazis sent hundreds of
thousands of Jews on death marches in whatever health or condition they were
in. Allies bombed
parts of Europe, and forced Hitler to his defeat. Hitler committed suicide.
Jack and Moliek were free. |

Characters: One of the
characters in this story is Jack Mendelbaum, he was twelve
years old. He lived in a relaxed house. He was forced out of his house by
Nazis. He was sent on a boat, there he was separated from his family. Then he
was sent to a slave camp for Jews. He was, moved around two times. At the
last slave camp he was at he met a boy named Moliek. Later they were freed. The other
character in this story was Moliek. He came late in
the story, where he met Jack at a slave camp. Moliek was a smart person. He
was not shy at all. He knows Jack to this very day. Setting: This story was taken place in Cyndia, Poland. This
first started in JackÕs house. Then was moved to a slave camp. |

author of this story is Andrea Warren. Andrea
grew up on a prairie. She used to be a teacher and journalist. Andrea Warren
writes for a journal in Kansas. She has won two awards: a Boston Globe Horn Book Award for Train
Rider: One BoyÕs True Story, she won the Midland Award for her book Pioneer
Girl. |

I thought this was an excellent book. I would definitely recommend this book, to a classmate. The boy goes to
different slave camps because he is a Jew. Will he die or will he make it
free? |
