This unit is designed to encourage Fourth Grade students to learn more about each of the California Missions.  The unit culminates in a student created slide show or web page presenting the information they have discovered while on their mission adventure.  This unit is designed as a wrap up activity AFTER studying the mission exploration.

Welcome Mission Explorer -- You have studied and learned about the Spanish explorers and their travels in the New World.  You have also learned about the travels of Father Junipero Serra and the establishment of the missions along California's coast.  It is now your turn to explore each mission individually.  Your challenge:  Create a web page or slide show which can be used to teach other fourth graders on the internet about your discoveries.  Be sure to include:  Founding Information, Mission Location, Related stories about the founding of each mission.  Your presentation should encourage other fourth graders to want to LEARN MORE ABOUT IT!!
