Welcome to 5th Grade

Dear Parents, 

Welcome to the fifth grade and the upper floor. I look forward to working with your children this year, and I am excited about the eventful school year ahead. We have almost completed our first full week of school, and I can tell that we are going to have a terrific year.

This year your child will climb the stairs to the second floor and join the other middle school students, where they will be offered a challenging curriculum, new learning experiences, and a variety of activities. I will teach the core curriculum subjects except for science, which will be taught by Mrs. Amy Stecher. Mrs. Jan Donovan and Mrs. Sonia Ino will teach small group reading and Mrs. Kim Fama will be our Instructional Aid. We are fortunate to live in a time where our curriculum is enhanced by Spanish (Senora Maria), art classes (Ms. Mia Inocencio), music (Ms. Kaori DeNoia ) and P.E. classes (Mr. Danny Williams).   

The fifth grade will prepare two of the school’s liturgies this year (Friday, November 3rd, and Thursday May 9th). Additionally, this year, we will have class Family Mass on October 15th, December 17th, February 11th and May 26th. This will be a learning experience for everyone and we invite you to be present, if possible, for these special masses. 

This year our class will attend a week long overnight field trip at the Caritas Creek from April 29th and return on May 3rd. I am also planning a few more field trips for the year. I will inform you as soon as possible once I confirm these trips with the logistics and dates.
