Science Grade 5

Welcome to the notes page! Taking good notes requires students to organize, evaluate, and summarize information. For Science, we use a modified Cornell method in an effort to practice these skills. Often note taking is assigned prior to class so as to preview the content and provide them with a structure, to promote listening rather than copying down; ultimately, providing them with an opportunity to engage with the material. Notes taken during class are important points of discussion which, in turn, give more meaning to the content. Notes will be posted on a weekly basis, if not before.
